Private. Your individual answers are read only by me and are never shared with the university, any chapter or organization, or anyone else, and never sold. Reply “delete” to any email and everything you’ve sent is erased.
Not crisis support. Anchor is a daily practice, not therapy. In an emergency, call 911. If you’re struggling or worried about your safety, call or text 988, or call the UM Counseling Center at (305) 284-5511 and press 1, any hour. Responses are read once a day, not in real time.
About
Anchor began as a TEDxUMiami talk on Gen Z mental health. Its central point was that how life feels depends a great deal on whether what you do each day lines up with what you value. Each Anchor is meant to bring the two a little closer. For now, I read every response and choose each Anchor by hand.
The Philosophy
Most of what makes a life good is already within reach. What helps is something honest and specific to return to, small enough to actually do.
That is where the name comes from. One small, worthwhile action becomes an anchor in your day, a fixed point that holds however the rest of it goes. The mark carries the rest of the idea: the wheel is your agency, since every Anchor is yours to take or pass on, and the star at the top is the compass, the direction you set for yourself.
